-------As We Began-------
With the branches and their leaves,
let go
your pride,
Your sad defenses,
your fear,
and come back down to earth.
For no wall you could build
can match
the heights of Autumn.
From a seed in the ground
the forests
have grown,
And cover
the hills
with every color.
Dusk holds
the herons wings.
And in the darkness
The edges
of our bodies
soften,
Returning
back to one,
as we all began.
