Maybe

Enough is enough

of the nonchalant

abuse

of land and water

 

As if

the sacredness of life

pertained 

to only human.

 

How was it that we 

have come to this

unwell way 

of thinking

 

That has put up walls

and drives its flag

into 

the heart of nature?

 

Our heart.

The heart that bleeds

and beats 

within each other.

 

We were not made 

to pledge ourselves 

to a single 

god or nation

 

But maybe

rather

to love this world

and the breadth of all creation.
