Is a forest of trees

with leaves and dreams

Empathy 

god knows 

softens the edges of ignorance.

to gather

Sunlight, 

warmth and laughter

So much so

that with my passing

My body

becomes the earth.

Just seeds the earth 

has freely given

A place to plant,

Dandelion and plantain,

clover, 

dock and sorrel.

A space to dream

of worlds

As Maple buds 

enlight the forest

A fragrance of trust,

like planted

roses,

With bombs or fear

the people's

Their stories

and bend like cedar

Stories of this land are told

in the mother tongue 

of seasons

In birdsong, wind, 

and morning light,

in the harvests

Suggests 

the flowers

patient study.
